Table of Contents
As already reported, on November 8, 2017, the media.connect conference meet the industry with the theme Blackbox Online Marketing took place. The event aimed to provide guests with an interesting and understandable overview of the various disciplines of online marketing. Our SEO expert Axel Zawierucha was one of the speakers and gave a presentation on the comprehensive topic of search engine optimization (SEO). Other companies discussed topics like social media marketing, branded content, or email marketing. Alongside the SEO agency internetwarriors with A. Zawierucha, there were speakers like Marcel Pirlich from Adspert Bidmanagement or Kristina Faßler from WELT24. We asked A. Zawierucha questions about the event to gain deeper insights.

SEO Expert A. Zawierucha on Search Engine Optimization
Following a keynote that broadly explained online marketing and an exciting behind-the-scenes look at digital marketing from the company Teufel, A. Zawierucha spoke. As the managing director and founder of the SEO agency in Berlin, he has extensive experience in this field. He discussed, among other things, the importance of technical SEO consulting, what link building involves, and the significance of content as an SEO measure. According to A. Zawierucha, it was about fundamentally explaining how search engine optimization works to the audience. If companies want to use search engine optimization effectively, they need to consider key points. Certain prerequisites must also be created from the company's side for SEO to become a profitable channel in digital marketing.
SEO Strategies and Potentials
SEO encompasses all methods and measures that influence search results. Here, structure, content, and programming are optimized so that increased relevance is signaled to the search engine for specific search terms. These methods can be divided into on-page optimization and off-page optimization.
What should not be missing in SEO support?
First, a comprehensive SEO analysis of the website or shop should be conducted. This includes attention to the technology, keywords, competitors, or content on the website. After the analysis, a concept can be developed, which is then implemented by SEO experts. Continuous support is important, which includes, for example, monitoring keywords and competitors and regular reporting. A. Zawierucha states that SEO is a discipline that benefits from experience, and only those who have long observed and interpreted Google can advise their clients with high quality. Since the SEO agency internetwarriors has been active in online marketing since 2001, it has the necessary experience, especially in this area.
Without search engine optimization, there is a risk that one's website will quickly get lost in the mass. The potential of SEO can be recognized when considering Google's reach. 2 billion searches per year and 140 million searches per day make it worthwhile to invest in a high ranking in the search queries.

Social Media Marketing, Big Data, and Branded Content…
Additional lectures followed, which covered the field of digital marketing well. Ines Ventzke (ressourcenmangel) spoke about the possibilities of social media marketing, how to increase the awareness of their company, and maintain its image. Manuel Hinz (CrossEngage) explained in his presentation that large data volumes are defined as big data, and evaluating these data sets poses a technical challenge. However, the analysis of big data can make online marketing much more effective and targeted. Additionally, the topic of branded content, an approach of content marketing, was introduced by Max Koglin (StoYo Media). This involves a personalized placement of content intended to increase leads and sales. The Berlin agency StoYo Media focuses on creating videos that, unlike traditional advertising, are published on Facebook and are very successful. The entertaining clips are tailored to the target audience and aim to reach users through creativity and humor.
Other addressed elements included keyword/paid advertising, native advertising, and email marketing.

The final panel involved a lively discussion on the question "Offline Marketing vs. Online Marketing?" SEO expert A. Zawierucha debated with interesting conversation partners, such as the marketing director of Berlin's public transport company. When asked what the final panel was about, A. Zawierucha replied: "The final panel was primarily about contrasting the online world with the offline world. On one side, we had companies still doing a lot of marketing in the offline world, and on the other side, companies exclusively using online marketing. The two directions were supposed to discuss this.” He pointed out the problem that no company can now operate exclusively offline marketing, so the juxtaposition is, in his opinion, constructed and leads to no real gain in insight. It is a fact that companies can effectively find and reach their target audience through disciplines like SEO, Google AdWords, or social media.
