What does it mean to be a Google Premium Partner?
Being a Google Premium Partner agency is a seal of excellence for the highest competence and performance in Google Ads. Google grants this award only to agencies that, among other things, demonstrate a high success rate in the execution of Google Ads campaigns and regularly participate in subject-specific workshops. As a Google Premium Partner, we have access to exclusive tools and resources that help us serve our clients better and make their campaigns even more effective.
How do you become a Google Ads Partner?
To become a Google Ads Partner, certain requirements must be met. There are basically 3 categories that are closely and regularly monitored by Google:
Performance: The Google Ads management account must have an optimization score of at least 70%.
Certifications: Google offers various certification exams to test knowledge and skills in Google Ads. To become a partner, at least 50% of account strategists in the Google Ads account must be certified.
Spending: In the last 90 days, the Google Ads management account must have at least $10,000 in ad spending.
Achieving the Google Ads Partner status is not a particularly big challenge. We place great emphasis on the continuous training of our Google Ads employees and consider the constant improvement of our Google Ads accounts to be self-evident. A bigger challenge is becoming a Google Premium Partner.
How do you become a Google Premium Partner Agency?
To achieve the status of Google Premium Partner, agencies must meet certain criteria. These include, among others:
Expanding the client base: The partner should be capable of increasing the number of existing clients, measured by the growth in ad spending with current Google Ads customers.
Acquiring new clients: The partner should be able to acquire new clients. This is measured by the increase in ad spending with first-time Google Ads customers.
Client retention: The partner has successfully demonstrated the ability to retain clients, measured by the portion of clients with ongoing Google Ads spending managed and maintained as existing clients (compared to the previous year).
Ad spending: The partner invests in Google Ads or the Google Marketing Platform, measured by the expenditures in the accounts they manage over the course of the year.
Product diversity: The partner significantly invests in a broad product portfolio that extends beyond pure search ads. This component is measured by the portion of spending on non-search ads on YouTube as well as Display & Video 360, Display, App, and Shopping ads over the course of the year.
Regular participation in further training: Google expects its Premium Partners to regularly participate in training and further education to stay up to date and deepen their competence and expertise in Google Ads.
