The Usability Booster - the add-on for AdWords optimizers
Table of Contents
Every AdWords manager wishes for tools that can make their daily work easier. With the Usability Booster, this wish comes true. The practical add-on, available for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, greatly improves workflow and makes daily work with the AdWords interface more efficient. We present this handy helper to you in more detail.
How to Install the Add-On
The Usability Booster is available on this page and can be activated in a few steps. Once you have correctly installed the add-on, a colorful icon will appear at the top right in the header on your AdWords account page.

By clicking on the icon, user settings open. You can, for instance, turn the booster on or off directly. We will discuss more settings and features in the next section.

The Features of the Usability Booster
The Usability Booster enhances the clarity in the AdWords account. You can display the various KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in different colors. Each color has a specific meaning, for instance, red values symbolize the costs of campaigns, keywords, etc. The green background, on the other hand, indicates conversions. The colors are predetermined automatically and cannot yet be customized.
Marking Multiple Rows is Easier
With the add-on, you can now click anywhere in the row to select the checkbox at the front and mark the row. Marking multiple rows is also quick and easy. Simply hold the Shift key and move the mouse up or down. Conversely, you can deselect rows by pressing the Ctrl key and moving the mouse over them.
With the mouseover function, you can now directly see which value belongs to which campaign, ad group, or appropriate keyword without having to click forward repeatedly.

Make Your AdWords Account More Clear
Furthermore, you can enlarge fields to better display the content. This is particularly ideal when creating new ads and entering sitelink texts. Here, the fields into which the text/link is inserted are often limited in size, requiring cumbersome mouse movement to view everything. Thanks to this handy tool, these fields are expanded and the creation process is made clearer.
Keywords to Your Liking
With the Usability Booster, it's now much easier to add keywords and negative keywords from search query reports. Previously, keywords were always initially accepted as broad match. Only in the next step could you adjust the keyword option. Thanks to the add-on, you can now change keyword options for all or selected keywords at once with a click.
Making negative keywords exclusion is now significantly easier. Previously, Google offered to exclude the entire unsuitable search query as an exact match. This restriction has now been removed.
In most cases, however, you only want to exclude a specific part of the word group and assign it another option. The Usability Booster provides precisely this opportunity. The tool places four buttons next to the input fields, allowing you to set the keyword options.
Hold the ALT key and double-click a word, and the words to the left and right of it will be deleted. Conversely, Ctrl + double-click deletes the selected word.
Additionally, the keywords themselves can be edited with a mouse click. You can add or completely remove quotation marks and brackets.
